Course A: Getting Started.
This course is for those who want to get started with fly casting and fly fishing. No prior knowledge is required. We provide equipment for the course if you do not have your own.
This course runs over 2 + 1 evenings, each lasting approximately 3 hours. On this course, we’ll go into detail about the equipment we use for single-handed fly fishing. Leaders, fly lines, the function and uses of the fly rod, as well as everything else it’s worth packing when you’re heading out fly fishing. By the end of the course, you’ll be well equipped to catch fish using a fly. The loan of single-handed tackle is included in the course. By this we mean the rod, reel, line, leader and fly. You are, of course, welcome to use your own equipment if you have it. If you’re unsure, we’ll sort it out.
The price per participant for this course, which runs over 2 + 1 evenings, is NOK 2,000. We have a maximum of 5 participants per course. The course fee must be paid well in advance of the course starting.
By ‘2 + 1 course evenings’, we mean that the final course evening can be arranged slightly later, once you’ve had a chance to practise. This will be agreed on the second evening.
Course B: Refresher
This course is for those who have tried their hand at fly fishing and/or fly casting before, but who would like a refresher. We’ll go through the fly fishing equipment and demonstrate the different types of casts that are most useful for successful fishing. Personalised guidance on casting techniques, tailored to each participant’s level. Both single-handed and double-handed rods can be used.
This course runs over 2 evenings, each lasting approximately 3 hours.
The price per participant for this two-evening course is NOK 1,500. We have a maximum of 4 participants per course. Course fees must be paid well in advance of the course starting.
Course C. Let the rod do the work
A course for advanced anglers who wish to perfect their casting skills and explore practical fly fishing in greater depth. This course is for both single-handed and double-handed fly fishers.
Sometimes, only minor adjustments are needed in a fly cast to achieve that good feel in the cast itself. Here, we’ll go through all the details for a smooth and practical fly cast without wasting energy. Let the rod do the work. We’ll simply put the rod to work, using the correct casting movements and the right amount of power to ensure a neat presentation of the fly.
The price per participant for this course, which runs over two evenings, is NOK 1,500. We have a maximum of four participants per course. The course fee must be paid well in advance of the course starting.
Course evening credit.
We have noted that some of you who have attended courses previously have one evening’s credit remaining. If this applies to you, simply get in touch and we’ll find an evening that suits.
