Fly fishers from large parts of the world travel to Rio Grande every year. Not without reason.

This is one of the world’s best-known rivers for large sea trout. The fishing can be demanding, but the reward is there: heavy fish, long runs, wind, big landscapes and moments you take with you long after the trip is over.

We in 2instincts have fished Rio Grande many times. It is the kind of place that stays with you. Many book a new trip before they have really landed back home. It is not only about the size of the fish, but about the whole setting around the fishing.

The season usually starts in November and lasts into April. Our trips normally run in January and February, when many of the most attractive weeks are under way. It pays to be early, as good weeks are often reserved year after year.

We arrange a trip every season. You can book one or more rods as needed. If you are a group, we can also look at the possibility of arranging the whole lodge for you. Several groups of friends and companies use this solution when they want a private and quiet week together by the river.

The guides know the pools, the conditions and the rhythm of the river. They help with choice of flies, lines and tactics, and give advice along the way. Many of the guides are very keen fly fishers themselves, and they know what is needed when conditions change.

This is not a trip for someone who simply wants to tick off a destination. Rio Grande is for fishers who like to work for the fish, and who appreciate it when everything comes together.
